BRUCE F. MALOTT, CPA, CFF
Managing Principal

Bruce F. Malott, CPA, CFF, is the founder and managing principal of O2 CPA Consulting Group. OCPA is a boutique consulting and tax firm that specializes in helping small businesses navigate complex tax, funding and profitability issues, as well as in helping individuals achieve their personal financial goals. Beyond tax advice and business consulting, Bruce is a nationally recognized forensic accounting expert with experience in testifying in over 100 cases.

In 1983, Bruce started his own firm which grew to be recognized for its innovative marketing, outstanding customer service, and high level of professional expertise. By the time the firm was acquired in 2011, the firm had grown into a $10 million firm with over 70 employees. This acquisition allowed Bruce to return to his true calling, helping small businesses.

Bruce has lived in Albuquerque since 1975 when his father moved the family from Long Island, New York to New Mexico. Bruce is a graduate of Arizona State University. He currently serves on the BBVA Compass Bank Advisory Board.  In addition, Bruce is a former member and secretary of the New Mexico Retiree Healthcare Authority and former chairman of the Educational Retirement Board of New Mexico. CASSANDRA H. BECKER
CPA, Principal

Cassandra H. Becker, CPA joined O2 CPA Consulting Group as a principal in 2014. As a tax specialist, Cassandra provides accounting, tax, and financial consulting services to closely held business clients and individuals. With over 20 years of experience, Cassandra has been serving clients in a variety of industries. In addition to her in-depth understanding of the intricacies of real estate investments and transactions, she also has experience working with clients involved in construction, auto dealerships, government contractors, and retail.

Cassandra is a graduate of the University of New Mexico, Anderson School of Management, with a BA in Business Administration, concentration in Accounting. She is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and New Mexico State Society of CPAs. Cassandra is a New Mexico native and lives in Albuquerque. When she isn’t out walking her two dogs, you can find her cruising around in her collector car or truck, or spending time at the gym.

LISA HENSON
Administrative Principal

Lisa Henson is a marketing and financial services executive with over 20 years of experience in accounting, real estate, and technology. Lisa is essential to the day-to-day operations of O2 CPA, both as the general manager of the company’s CPA service and in a variety of functions for the company’s financial services and consulting effort. Lisa has a reputation for being detail-driven, and her meticulous approach to work is a key driver of success for O2 CPA. She is involved in a number of critical systems within the organization including client relations, the maintenance of key technologies, and firm communications. Lisa also oversees the finance and human resources departments of her family’s own company, bringing an understanding of the daily practice of small business owners that O2 CPA clients can appreciate.

Lisa lives in Albuquerque with her family, and she enjoys rock climbing, culinary arts, traveling, and spending time in her vegetable garden.

Wood, Marla -8403 CLR

MARLA WOOD
Consultant

Marla occupies a particular niche at O2 CPA, specializing in work with artistic and creative entrepreneurs. With an undergraduate degree in theatre from Rhodes College and an Executive MBA from the University of New Mexico’s Anderson School of Business, she helps artists better understand and embrace strategies for profitability in their creative business ventures.

From her years as managing director of Keshet Dance Company to her work as ARCA’s business enterprise director managing four start-up units, Marla has built a career working to bring unlikely business models to profitability. In 2014, she led the launch of the Keshet Ideas and Innovation Center (KIIC), a program dedicated to supporting the business skills of arts entrepreneurs, with funding from LEDA and the Economic Development Administration. She continues to work with partnering organizations such as The Loan Fund to make credit opportunities available to creative entrepreneurs through its CreativeFund, supported by Kresge and Surdna Foundations.

With an ability to translate between the languages of artistic creation and market forces, Marla offers business consulting and coaching for creative entrepreneurs in the areas of strategy, financial acumen, product development, and marketing. She works with small business owners and growing organizations to articulate their vision and build a framework to get there – using data driven decision-making and evaluation techniques. Marla also works as a facilitator to bring consensus to stakeholders and credibility to communications strategies.
